Editing a Firebird or Interbase Database

The selected database settings should be listed in this screen.

  1. You should now go through each setting, leaving it if correct or changing it to suit your requirements.
  2. If the location has changed, click on the Browse button , and then browse to your database on the local PC or server.
Firebird databases have the file type .FDB, while Interbase databases have file type .GDB.
  3. When you select the database and return to this window, the following required fields should be automatically completed:
  4. Field Explanation
UNC Path This should identify the logical path to the database, such as \\server\database\database .fdb (or .gdb).
Server This should identify the name of the server where the database is located. If the database is on the local PC it will display Local.
Database This should identify the full path of the database as it resides on the server specified above (i.e. the path as the server sees it, not the path as the workstation sees it). The default location is in the database folder located under the HR3pay program files folder, but this can be changed if required.
  5. Enter the Alias that will identify this database on the login screen.
  6. Click Test.
A message will appear informing you if the test was successful and you have connected the database.
  7. If the test is unsuccessful, double check the UNC and database paths and try again.

  8. Click Next and then OK. The settings will be saved and you will return to the Login screen.
